Dear Friends Skaleagues and future Skaleagues,
The Skal Club of Phuket has a professional vehicle to communicate with all of our members and appeal those of you who would like to join us. We are updating it to give you the latest information about the Club of Phuket, our next activities, members profile, the committee who's who and details of the other Skal Clubs in Thailand.
This is my 1st year of Presidency for the Phuket Chapter, and I will keep what has been our Club's successful formula based on simply gathering friends for a monthly dinner. These dinners have a typical relaxed island feel to them, and are centred on building friendships within our industry more than business there and then.
When I arrived in Phuket in 2006 after 5 years in Bangkok, I joined the Club of Phuket and it gave me an instant opportunity to get to know close to 40 of the island's tourism leaders whose friendship are now of great value to me.
During the 2nd term of 2008, we have welcomed new members and increased our membership base. We could realistically say that we should reach 50 to 55 members by December.
With the new committee, we are keeping the same focus for contribution and are continuing with the long term commitment to the school projects in Khao Lak and in Rawai: founding the education of quite a number of children up until their graduation.
